The User Profile Page
The user profile page in the FunnyMonkey Commons allows people to get a quick overview of activity on the site. The elements on this page are customizable, and can be changed depending on the exact needs of the site. The screenshot included here shows the options of the default install.
- Each person on the site has a bio page that allows them to share information about themselves; a brief version of this bio shows on the user profile page, with a link to the full bio. Elements of the profile are linkable, allowing people to find one another via keywords. The elements included in the user profile can be edited to reflect the needs of your site.
- On their profile page, all people in the site are presented with a list of sitewide announcements and upcoming assignments. Announcements are published by a site administrator, and assignments are pulled from the classes or groups to which a user belongs. The assignments block links to a full personalized assignment calendar.
- The final section of the user profile page gives people a snapshot of any new information within the site that is directly relevant to them. People can see any new comments in active threads in the Recent Activity block; the Group Overview block lists all the groups to which a user belongs, and highlights any groups that have new content.
In addition, the user profile page links to the site blog for that user. This blog functions as a working portfolio; all content created by the user on the site is displayed within the blog.
